As one of the pioneers of Temecula Valley Wine Country Mount Palomar Winery has been growing and producing award winning wines since 1969 and is a long-time favorite of locals and visitors alike. The winery and 45 acres of lush vineyards are situated on more than 315 acres in the heart of Temecula Wine Country. You will be delighted with breathtaking views of the Mount Palomar Mountain Range, meticulously groomed vineyards, spectacular Mediterranean style terraces, a traditional winemaking facility, and romantic photographic settings.
Mount Palomar introduced a number of "firsts" in the Temecula Valley, most significantly the trend to Mediterranean grape varieties and has been recognized for its sustainable environmental practices in viticulture. We make a range of fine wines with special emphasis on classic, Bordeaux style blends and Italian varietals. Mount Palomar also has a thirty year history of producing excellent Solera Cream Sherry in one of the only remaining outdoor Soleras in the United States as well as a Gold Medal winning Limited Reserve Port. All of our wines are created here on the property and can be sampled in our Guest Center.
Our Winery and Guest Center are nestled away from the Rancho California Road thoroughfare. Entering the early California style structure is a step into a relaxing and peaceful environment. Visitors often tell us, "This feels like a real winery!" In keeping with the warm sunshine and Mediterranean climate in the Temecula Valley, the Taverna at Mount Palomar offers a diverse array of Mediterranean inspired sandwiches, salads, pizzas, appetizers and many other flavorful and healthy deli foods. This is the perfect spot for a casual lunch that won't keep you from finishing your tasting plans for the day
Future development plans include an expanded full-service deli (Shorty’s Bistro, opening in April, 2010); extensive new vineyard plantings; a larger wine production facility; a new guest facility including restaurants and a world-class, wine country resort and spa; and private estate homes.
The goal of Mount Palomar Winery remains the same as it did in 1969, "enhance the lives of friends and guests with an exceptional wine country experience."
